Chinatown is one of the historical places one must visit when in Malaysian capital. Furthermore those looking for a good rub must definitely try Kuala Lumpur Chinatown massage at some of the local parlors. It is true that this neighborhood is not as famous as Jalan Ipoh or Bukit Bintang but there are quite a few places to try out. There are no big spas here for that head over to city center. Massage shops are small but there are some talented Chinese ladies waiting to service you nicely.
Massage location in Chinatown
The whole area is about 10 by 10 or so blocks around Jalan Pudu. A good way to spot the masseuses is towards the ends of the Petaling Street (walking street with many shops and food stalls) near the junction with Jalan Pudu. Another place is the parlors next to Jalan Sultan and Jalan Hang Lekir. For guests staying on Jalan Tun SH Lee the parlor near Suzie’s Guesthouse was recommended to me by the hostel workers.
Well, the rules of thumb is that is about 1 Malaysian Ringgit per 1 minute!
Foot Massage Reflexology – 30 minutes at 30 ringgit, 1 hour at 50 ringgit Shoulder Massage – 15 minutes at 20 ringgit Back Massage – 30 minutes at 30 ringgit Full Body Massage – 1 hour at 60 ringgit, 90 minutes at 90 ringgit

What if I want Thai massage?
From what we’ve seen in this neighborhood it is only Chinese type of service provided. Should you need Thai massage there are many shops in the area near the Bukit Bintang. One place you may want to check out is the Thai Massage at the Hotel Mercury behind Berjaya Times Square, a short 20 minutes walk from Jalan Pudu.
Their rates are as follows in the photo below:
Foot massage – 45 minutes at 48 RM Body massage – 45 minutes at 58 RM Thai massage – 1 hour at 68 RM Head & Shoulder – 30 minutes at 38 RM
